Let's come into our work with full awareness and love. This is one way to change the narrative of the old capitalism where we work like machines and our worth are defined by production and efficiency. Bringing sovereignty back to the artist is (re)claiming peace and joy, truth and kindness, within and without.

Reflecting on our collective work patterns, I want to share a ritual coming into the new year where we vow and meditate briefly before work. Even just a sentence and a breath, join me ฅ(=ʘⰙʘ=).

Transcript

May my work be kind
and may I create with humility & courage.
May every expression bring me closer to my truest self.
May love come through me & heal everything that it touches.

May I be a vessel that reflects truth.
May I be kind to myself & speak with the voice of encouragement.

May I give liberately, not minding how and what I would receive in return, trusting that nothing is lost. That is the law of action and reaction.

May I be humble and give without worries of being judged wrongly,
of perfection, and of loneliness.

May my work be an activism for love,
for kindness, and everything that is life-giving.

May my contribution be a humble gift to my community
and may I be filled with peace and joy throughout the process.
