One way to feel better.

Answer this prompt:

What is currently making me feel like I'm punched in the gut? Elaborate.

This is one of my sanity saviors and I thought we might need it even more on socially festive days.

Enjoy.

If you want to try what I usually do

Use the expressive writing method with the mentioned prompt (which is what I usually do). Here are some guidance to ensure its therapeutic effectiveness:

  1. Write in your ugliest handwriting or use a computer.
  2. Write for at least 10 minutes in a quiet space.
  3. Don't stop to fix your grammar or reread or overthink.
  4. Keep it private. Just the thought of someone seeing it might deflect the point of the exercise.
  5. Most importantly: Dare to be brutally honest. Be evil if that's what comes up. Let go of any inhibition.
  6. (Optional) Delete it afterwards.

The writing doesn't reflect your characters and real life choices. They are just the stuff that are cluttering your headspace. Free yourself from those demons/chaos by purging them out. You can always change your mind later, with clarity.

The idea is making a print of a cat village for my list of 23 specific ways to be peacefully happier for human cats (i.e. highly sensitive people). Today's prompt is one of the 23 ways. This project is inspired by Struthless's 32 Ways Art Print, check it out!

I feel excited to hang this on my wall as a reminder to lean into peace and sensitivity. The quotes that you want to make into a poster will be included in this village print ˓˓ก₍⸍⸌̣ʷ̣̫⸍̣⸌₎ค˒˒. Plus, the amazing thing about creating is that once it is birthed, it can be shared 。゚(₌இᆽஇ₌)゚。.

If you want to contribute your insights before I finalize the sketch and the list, let me know. I will reveal the list on Patreon and to have a cute discussion while keeping it not too public.
