If you feel nervous at a party

just communicate openly that you are.

Being transparent about your emotions helps you to reconnect with your feelings and take care of them while giving others the opportunity to understand you and possibly agree in relief that social gatherings can be unnerving.

Usually, the so-called downer is not someone who is introverted at a party, but someone who is shut-down about their own feelings thus leaving themselves and others confused.

To admit that I am scared (but I show up because this is important to me) is the antithesis of fear. This is true bravery and self-compassion, which grows the seeds of genuine connections within and without.
